On 27 January 2025, our Innovation Partner, the National University of Battambang (NUBB), concluded their Validation Workshop on the Preliminary Results of the Diagnostic Study on 100 SMEs and the Preparation of the Management and Technology Training Program.

The workshop has convened diverse participants, including ministerial departments, agricultural cooperatives, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from various industries, and lecturers, staff, and young researchers of NUBB- Regional Innovation System Development Project (NUBB-RIS), as they came together to discuss key insights and contribute to the preparation of the Management and Technology Training Program tailored to the needs of local industries.

Key takeaways from this workshop include:

  • The training program needs to elaborate to farmers that while good agricultural practices may not be their obligation, but it is an approach that can lower costs and enhance the branding of their products, making them more appealing to customers.
  • Stakeholders agreed to adopt the “Action Learning Tasks” teaching method by incorporating action-based work into the teaching process and provide additional consultation to each enterprise.

After this validation workshop, NUBB will proceed with the next steps for the research project:

  • Encourage lecturers and researchers to develop training materials for the assigned courses
  • Implement the Management and Technology Training Program.

This validation workshop is part of NUBB’s research project on “Upgrading the Regional Innovation System through the Collaboration between University, Provincial Authority, Other Relevant Ministerial Departments, and Industries at the Provincial Level”.
