Ponlok Chomnes is pleased to share insights from Dr. Raksmey Ang, Research Fellow at CDRI, as he represents Cambodia at the Australasian AID Conference 2025.

Dr. Raksmey is presenting his research on “Strengthening Climate-Resilient Water Safety Planning (CR-WSP) for Inclusive WASH Services in Cambodia,” which highlights how climate change is increasingly affecting water, sanitation, and hygiene systems—especially for vulnerable and marginalised communities. His work focuses on supporting CSOs, associations, and government actors to adopt CR-WSP guidelines while understanding the challenges and incentives that shape implementation and long-term sustainability.

At AAC2025, Dr. Raksmey is not only sharing his research but also engaging in key panel sessions on climate security and localised approaches to climate resilience. These discussions deepen his understanding of how local contexts and partnerships shape effective adaptation strategies.

Ahead of the conference, he conducted a series of networking and learning visits in Sydney, meeting with experts from Western Sydney University, the Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS, and the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre at the University of Sydney. These exchanges set the stage for future collaboration in research, program design, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening sustainable development in Cambodia and across the region.

Ponlok Chomnes proudly supports our partners in amplifying Cambodian research and engaging in global policy dialogue.
