Ponlok Chomnes is pleased to share reflections from Ms. Bun Phoury, REDD+ Research & Impact Advisor, WCS, and Vice President of SheThinks Network, as she represents Cambodia at the Australasian AID Conference 2025.

At AAC2025, Ms. Phoury presented her research on “Whose Change Counts? Rethinking Development Evaluation Through Most Significant Change in Cambodia’s Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary REDD + Project” that explores how meaningful changes experienced by local communities and interpreted through participatory evaluation methods, to inform more inclusive and contextsensitive development assessments.

Ms. Phoury actively participated in panel discussions and plenary sessions on aid effectiveness, participatory design, and complexity-aware evaluation, offering fresh insights and exchanging ideas with international experts.

Ms. Phoury also visited the Western Sydney University and the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre (University of Sydney), exploring future research collaboration, amplifying the voices of Cambodian women researchers, and supporting locally grounded and inclusive research and leadership.

Ponlok Chomnes proudly supports our partners in amplifying Cambodian research and engaging in global policy dialogue.
