On 24 April 2026, Nak Akphivath Sahakum (NAS), in collaboration with community accountability facilitators (CAFs) and commune councilors, co-conducted a Commune Inclusive Forum at Salachontean (Merit Hall) in Sourkorng Commune, Kampong Cham province, with over 50 participants, including citizens, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
The forum created a space for community members to openly share their concerns and priorities, while engaging directly with public service providers. Key discussion topics included climate change resilience, digital transformation, access to public services, and environmental and social issues.
Participants also had the opportunity to learn more about public services and their rights, while local authorities shared updates on their work and commitments.
Citizens raised important concerns such as challenges with obtaining an ID and ID-Poor re-registration, as well as illegal fishing activities. Local authorities expressed their commitment to supporting documentation processes and strengthening awareness and enforcement in the community.
This forum reflects the continued effort to promote inclusive participation and strengthen collaboration between citizens and local authorities for better community development.
The Ponlok Chomnes Innovation Fund supports local initiatives by addressing specific local issues through collaboration between civil society organisations and local authorities to promote inclusive and meaningful community’s participations.
