The Ponlok Chomnes program, in collaboration with its GEDSI Consortium, conducted a sharing session on “Introduction to Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR)” on 24 December 2024.
The training aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) by exploring its theoretical roots and feminist principles, encouraging reflection on power dynamics and ethical considerations in research, and fostering empathy when engaging with communities. It also provided practical tools and examples to apply gender-inclusive participatory methods in the Cambodian context, addressing gender inequalities and promoting action-oriented research.
Our partners gained a solid understanding of integrating feminist perspectives into participatory action research, learned to embed FPAR into their research processes, and were equipped to foster collaboration and empower women in the research field. The training emphasised promoting inclusive, gender-sensitive practices that contribute to sustainable development and gender equity.
