SheThinks Network Members at #AAC2024
From 3-5 December 2024, members of SheThinks Network successfully presented their Cambodia-related research findings at the Annual Australian Aid Conference 2024. The presentation aimed to explore the latest trends, challenges, and best practices in international development and aid, while fostering connections with researchers, organisations, and research centers to identify potential collaboration opportunities.
The members of SheThinks Network who presented their research papers at the conferences include:
- Sophany San: “Empowering Women in Leadership Positions through Development Aid: Evidence from Female Councillors and Female Civil Servants at the Sub-National Level in Three Provinces in Cambodia.”
- Bun Phoury: “Bridging the Information Divide: Addressing the Information Divide for Persons with Disabilities in Cambodia.”
- You SaoKeo Khantey: “A Mixed-Methods Study on Women’s Participation in Post-Secondary STEM Education and Careers in Cambodia.”
Their research generated valuable insights on topics relevant to Cambodia and provide learning opportunities for attendees in Australia.
Achievements and Outcomes from the Participation:
- Cambodian research visibility was enhanced through presentations on an international platform.
- SheThinks gained more connections with global researchers, policymakers, and institutions.
- Connections and collaborations with Australian universities such as Charles Sturt University and University of Canberra have begun.
- Valuable insights from international research practices were gained, contributing to the improvement of members’ research work.
The three members of SheThinks Network will share their key takeaways within the network and with colleagues at their respective institutions. This exchange of insights seeks to foster new international collaborations and inspire innovative ideas for developing projects or action plans that further advance the objectives of SheThinks Network.
We are looking forward to the significant contributions they will bring to the network!
