Agriculture

a. Community-supported agriculture: there are currently 556 communities (70 communities were registered in 2014) with 64 662 members (62% female).
b. Agricultural Extension Policy: MAFF is rolling out a new Agricultural Extension Policy that will look to boost the sector by making new knowledge and technology easily accessible to farmers and communities, in a bid to increase efficiency and productivity in the sector. It aims to increase awareness of new technologies on farming techniques to farmers in a bigger scope through agricultural extension officers from public sector, private sector and development partners.
c. Rice export: There is a 2% increase in rice export in 2014 comparing to 2013.
d. New varieties: two new rice (Phka Rumduol for dry season and CAR 14) and one waxy maize (CM1) varieties have been released by CARDI.
e. Rubber: Rubber plantation increases from 357 809 to 328 800 hectares from 2013 to 2014. Rubber exports in 2014 rose 16.38 % comparing to the export in 2013.
