Gender mainstreaming

Working with other line ministries on gender mainstreaming. Example of results achieved by national gender mainstreaming includes: integration of gender issues in MOP’s national surveys (CDHS, Agriculture Census, Economic Survey, Socio-economic Survey), conducting Gender and Labor Migration for sub-national workshops in cooperation with MoI and MoLVT, setting a 20% to 50% quota for women in examination to recruit new civil servant organized by MCS, providing scholarship and building dormitories for female students by MoEYS, etc. In collaboration with other line ministries, MoWA also took measure to mainstream gender in policies, laws, regulations, and programs. All Line Ministries have Gender Mainstreaming Action Groups and Gender Mainstreaming Action Plans. Several Line Ministries have developed Sector-specific Gender Policies, including MAFF, MCS (forthcoming) and MLVT (forthcoming) which are aligned to Neary Ratanak IV. MoWA and CDC have done annual sectoral gender analyses of ODA (2015, 2016) which identify which sectors are mainstreaming gender and to what extent. This will be used to monitor the implementation of Near Ratanak IV at Line Ministry level and encourage DPs to align their ODA gender work to national gender priorities as outlined in the Neary Ratanak IV.
