Exclusive Interview #4 | Ponlok Chomnes Provincial Policy Forum 2026

We are pleased to release this exclusive interview series from the Ponlok Chomnes Provincial Policy Forum 2026. In our Exclusive Interview #4, Ms. You Chanbopha, Indigenous Woman Community Leader, shares her valuable insights and experiences with the forum.

In response to question, “As an indigenous woman, how has your participation in local dialogue or decision-making processes helped community realities into policy discussions?”, Ms. You Chanbopha highlights how droughts have negatively impacted rice prices and resulted in dismal crop yields. These conditions often force villagers and commune officials to evacuate residents to safe ground, which also affects children missing out on their education.

Furthermore, she emphasises that once this critical data is gathered from resident, it is brought to commune council meeting to ensure these climate-related issues are factored into the commune development plan. This reflects the Forum’s dedication to inclusive dialogue and practical solutions for Cambodia’s communities.

Until we meet again next time for another exclusive interview!
